Regenerative Therapies
Regenerative medicine goes beyond treating symptoms and managing disease by encouraging the body’s own self-healing process.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments for hair and face
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a non-surgical regenerative medicine technique that uses your own body’s healing and repair mechanisms as an alternative to surgery or drugs.
Platelet-rich plasma or PRP is a substance that is derived from one’s own blood. Blood is drawn from the patient and then spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and platelets from other parts of the blood. Platelets contain a concentration of healing and growth factors that stimulate cellular repair in the body. The resulting platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the body tissue to help stimulate and promote regeneration and hair growth.
PRP is most commonly used for pain, but is also effective for hair loss. It is a more robust and stronger treatment than prolotherapy by itself. The technique reduces the effects of hair loss and thinning by treating the scalp directly. PRP aids in hair regrowth that has receded due to hereditary hair loss. It also treats other causes of hair loss such as hormonal changes, stress, age, surgery, illness, and more.
PRP injections can be effective in treating pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants. PRP can also be used to help repair and regenerate nerve tissue.
The number of PRP treatments can vary based on movement and function of the joint and the overall health and nutrition of the patient. On average, 3 – 6 sessions are needed for treatment. Patients who are in poor health or have certain advanced conditions may be more difficult to treat.
Some patients may need more or fewer treatments depending on how well they heal. Proper nutrition and movement are paramount in terms of being able to get the best outcome and are an important part of the healing process.
Steroids produce short-term pain relief and inhibit inflammation. Unfortunately, this inhibits the body’s own ability to heal itself. Over time, steroids actually cause more degeneration of the tissue and joint into which it has been injected.
Platelet-rich plasma treatments do not cause any of these problems. In fact, it does just the opposite by aiding the body’s own ability to heal itself
Botox® Injections
We provide Botox injections for fine lines and wrinkles, and to help with chronic head and neck pain.
Botox® botulinum toxin) is an effective injection treatment for chronic migraines.
Chronic migraine is a condition that is characterized by pain affecting one side of the head accompanied by a pulsating or throbbing sensation. It is associated with moderate to severe pain.
Migraines can be aggravated by physical activity as well by one’s menstrual cycle. Nausea, vomiting, and photosensitivity can also be associated with this condition.
Indications for Botox treatment of chronic migraines include 15 or more headache days per month lasting approximately 4 hours or more each day in individuals over 18 years of age.
Botox treatment helps provide relief for pain, but also reduces the frequency of migraines. The neurologist uses a very small needle to inject small amounts of Botox into shallow muscles in the head and neck.
The Botox enters the area around nerve endings and interferes with or blocks the neurotransmitters associated with pain.
After treatment, one should not touch their face, go to sleep, get a massage, or work out for about four hours. Doing so may lead to spread of the toxin which, in turn, may cause facial weakness.
There may be soreness at the injection site. Warm compresses and acetaminophen or ibuprofen help.
PRP injections can be effective in treating pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants. PRP can also be used to help repair and regenerate nerve tissue.
Treatment for chronic migraines is given every 3 months. The effect of treatment is usually seen within 1-2 weeks of the injection. The best results are usually experienced after the 2nd or 3rd treatment.
Patients experience a reduced frequency and severity of headaches
Some patients may need more or fewer treatments depending on how well they heal. Proper nutrition and movement are paramount in terms of being able to get the best outcome and are an important part of the healing process.
Botox is an effective injection treatment for cervical dystonia sufferers.
Cervical dystonia is also known as spasmodic torticollis. The condition is associated with involuntary neck muscle contraction with the head being twisted to one side or the other. It is typically associated with pain and headaches and can arise spontaneously or may be related to injuries of the neck or shoulder.
Cervical dystonia is also associated with neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. The condition is not curable; however, it can be treated with Botox. Medications for cervical dystonia are typically ineffective.
Platelet-rich plasma treatments do not cause any of these problems. In fact, it does just the opposite by aiding the body’s own ability to heal itself
Treatments vary depending on which muscles are affected, the severity of the condition, and the level of pain a patient is experiencing.
The doctor determines the necessary dosage and uses a tiny needle to inject the Botox into the affected muscles. The Botox will block the signals that come from the brain that cause a muscle to contract.
This helps reduce the frequency of muscle contractions and aids in the reduction of pain and stiffness.

Most individuals do not have side effects. However, in those individuals who do, the following can be seen:
- Trouble Swallowing
- Flu-like Symptoms
- Trouble Breathing
- Difficulty Speaking
- Blurred Vision
- Dizziness

Typical conditions treated include injuries due to overuse, tendonitis and tendinosis, muscle, tendon, and ligament tears, and osteoarthritis. Common specific conditions include tennis or golfer’s elbow, rotator cuff tears or tendonitis, hip tendonitis, Achilles’ tendinosis, quadriceps and patellar tendonitis, and plantar fasciitis.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy can be used for a number of types of conditions, but is particularly useful for torn ligaments and tendons, muscles, joint pain, meniscal tears, and labral tears of the hip or shoulder. PRP can also be used to help repair and regenerate nerve tissue.

Stem Cell Therapy treatments
We offer stem cell therapy to reduce chronic pain by stimulating healing of damaged tissue in the body.
Stem cells are the body’s natural healing cells that work to make minor repairs to joints, ligaments, tendons, and other tissue. A stem cell’s purpose is to heal and repair areas in our body.
The healing process involves a complex intercommunication between a wide variety of cells in our body.
Platelet-rich plasma treatments (PRP treatments) are most commonly used for chronic neck and back pain, sciatica, shoulder, knee, and elbow pain.
By harvesting a patient’s stem cells from their bone marrow and concentrating them, the degenerative process can be reversed, and healing is stimulated in the joints and tissue.
Once the stem cells are drawn from the bone marrow, the layers of cells are carefully separated to obtain the purest and highest concentration for treating a specific condition.
To augment the healing process for maximal healing, we mix the stem cells with long acting platelets, platelet lysate, and growth factors. Platelets also aid in this process by initiating the repair process and signaling repair cells like stem cells to attach to the degenerated or injured tissue to bind and repair.
Stem cell therapy is an outpatient procedure. The treatment area is sterilized and numbed. Bone marrow fluid is then extracted with a syringe. The stem cells are concentrated and injected into the affected part of the body to promote a healing response.
Stem cells will bind to damaged, unhealthy cells and transfer their power source. Stem cells also recruit other cells to come to the area so that there is a symphony of healing.
Spinal conditions including degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, spinal facet pain, pinched nerves, and sacroiliac (SI) joint pain
Osteoarthritis of the joints including knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle joints|
Partial rotator cuff tears
Persistent tendon tears such as tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, quadriceps, and patellar tendon tears
Muscular tears
Cartilage tears in the knee (meniscus)
Non-healing bone fractures
If you are suffering with pain and want a solution that does not include surgery, consider stem cell therapy. Stem cell therapy targets the underlying source and leads to increased function and mobility.

Healing usually takes place in three stages: Inflammation, Proliferation, and Remodeling.
Many healthcare professionals see inflammation as a negative response from the body that should be stopped. They often recommend anti-inflammatories, but studies confirm that these medications slow down the healing process and impair healing.
Controlled inflammation is actually needed to assist the natural repair and healing process in our bodies.
Inflammation is required to start the repair process. This is followed by proliferation to grow new healthy tissue, and then remodeling to strengthen and mature the injured and degenerated area.
Platelet-rich plasma treatments do not cause any of these problems. In fact, it does just the opposite by aiding the body’s own ability to heal itself.
IV Treatments
An IV therapy treatment will be customized to fit your specific needs. Dr. Fawad Mian, is a neurologist who is dedicated to restoring health and improving quality of life
We offer IV therapy treatments for patients who want to:
- Experience optimal wellness

Prolotherapy treatments
Prolotherapy is a safe, non-surgical treatment for chronic musculoskeletal pain and ligament reconstruction. This regenerative technique used to strengthen ligaments, tendons, and joints which are damaged or weakened due to injury or aging.
Prolotherapy promotes and accelerates the body’s own natural healing processes to reduce pain, repair and rebuild tissue.
Prolotherapy works by causing an initial reaction of localized inflammation which triggers your body to heal itself. This wound healing cascade increases blood supply and a flow of growth factors which help stimulate new collagen growth within ligaments and tendons. This is achieved through injection of various solutions which include naturally occurring dextrose-based solutions or platelet rich plasma (PRP).
Many conditions have been effectively treated with prolotherapy including:
Back Pain/Sciatica
Sacroiliac Dysfunction
Whiplash Injuries
Neck Pain
Shoulder & Rotator Cuff Pain
Tennis & Golfer’s Elbow
Sports Injuries
Tendonitis
Muscle & Tendon Pain
Wrist & Hand Pain
Arthritis & Joint Pain
Low Back Pain
Most patients require a series of injections. The exact number depends on the location of the tissue damage, the severity of the condition, and how well an individual heals. The average patient receives three to six rounds of treatment may be necessary, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. During that time, it is very important to adopt a healthy lifestyle which includes diet, exercise, and cessation of smoking. Patience is also key as it takes time to heal.
Prolotherapy is great for healing ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. Traditionally a dextrose solution is used to stimulate healing however, other substances such as platelet rich plasma, growth hormone, or testosterone can also be used.
When ligaments become damaged and are left untreated, they become loose which then allows the bones in the joint to excessively move. This often leads to pain, muscle spasms, and eventually arthritis.
In several studies, up to 90% of patients received good to excellent results in function and pain relief. Most other treatments only mask pain and provide temporary relief— they don’t treat the cause.
Cortisone may provide temporary relief from pan, but eventually the problem comes back because the joint is swelling. The swelling is there because the joint is unstable. Ligaments are damaged, and the joint is loose.
The body is trying to stabilize the joint by swelling it. The body tries to stabilize joints by swelling to protect cartilage, muscle spasms to protect nerves, and developing bone spurs to protect adjacent joints.
When cortisone masks the pain, an individual may go back to playing golf or tennis (for example) and cause increased damage and not know it or feel it.
Prolotherapy, in contrast to cortisone is proliferative therapy.
Proliferative therapy includes any prolotherapy injection techniques such as platelet rich plasma or stem cell therapy that stimulate the repair of tissue.
By strengthening ligaments, tendons, and soft tissue, prolotherapy actually re-creates stability inside the joint so there is less force on your cartilage and surrounding tissue.
Neural Therapy treatments
Neural therapy, also referred to as neural prolotherapy or perineural injection, is used to treat pain in tendons, ligaments, and other connective tissue. The muscles in the body need proper nerve function in order to move.
Addressing nerve dysfunction is extremely important. Failure to treat underlying nerve function can negatively impact other treatments.
This is an injection procedure which was developed by John Lyftogt in New Zealand. Injections are given underneath the skin with a glucose solution targeting the source of pain. The solution targets at the level of the nerves.
Lyftogt initially treated Achilles’ tendons with incredible success rate. Over time, these treatments were extended to other body parts which include the neck, back, knees, shoulders, etc.
Neural therapy works by decreasing inflammation of the nerve and its subsequent branches. The solution seems to work on the TRPV-1 receptor which is involved in pain. When this receptor is activated, it results in the release of substances that cause inflammation.
By treating the nerve dysfunction with neural prolotherapy, this cascade is turned off. Surrounding connective tissue can then heal.
Stem cells will bind to damaged, unhealthy cells and transfer their power source. Stem cells also recruit other cells to come to the area so that there is a symphony of healing.
NPT can be used to treat wide variety of conditions that are associated with pain. Common areas for treatment include neck, back, knee, shoulder, wrist, hand, elbow, and many other areas.
Typically, several injections will be given along the area of pain. Some injections may result in mild discomfort.
In most cases, patients will feel immediate relief after one session. However, the effects after one session are often short-lived. They may last a few hours to a few days.
With each session, the patient will feel progressively better as time goes on. Patients may need 6-8 sessions for complete resolution of the pain. Most conditions are treated on a weekly basis.
In the solution, no anesthetic is used. For comfort, you may take pain medication prior to the procedure. A cold spray can be used to help minimize discomfort with each injection.
These injections are very safe and non-invasive. Complications are minimal. Possible adverse effects may include minor bleeding, bruising, swelling, and temporary mild discomfort.
Male Sexual Wellness
Millions of men in the U.S. suffer from erectile dysfunction, so know that you are not alone. We provide safe, natural, drug-free, and effective treatments for erectile dysfunction
P-Shots (Priapus Shot)
The Priapus Shot®, also known as the P-Shot®, is a natural, drug-free, surgery-free way to improve and deliver lasting improvements in sexual performance for men.
It can also be effective for people who have had prostate surgery and erectile dysfunction related to diabetes and high blood pressure. For some, an increase in size may be noticed as well.
Erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection for sex. It can really impact a relationship and cause undo psychological stress.
One out of every two men between the ages of 35 and 65 will have a problem with erectile dysfunction, or other sexual wellness issues.
Unlike medications, you do not need to fear headaches, heart attacks, or stroke with the P-Shot. Since the P-Shot contains your own blood, you will not have any unwanted reactions.
Currently, there are medications for erectile dysfunction. While these medications can be effective, they can cause some serious side effects. They may also eventually stop working and surgery would be the last resort. The P-Shot uses platelets and growth factors from your own blood, so it is natural and free of chemicals.
The P-Shot is a noninvasive, outpatient procedure that causes no pain or discomfort, and is drug and chemical free.
Blood is drawn from the arm and placed in a centrifuge where the platelets and growth factors are separated and concentrated. A topical local anesthetic is applied. Then a proprietary technique is utilized to inject various areas of the penis to stimulate rejuvenation.
This is an outpatient procedure requiring no recovery time, very little or no downtime, and patients can resume their regular daily activities.
The growth factors in the P-Shot stimulate growth of new blood vessels and increases circulation to the penis. The result is a stronger erection, tissue growth, and improved sensation.
For some, they may notice improvements in a few weeks while others may take a month or two. A series of treatments may also need to be done depending on your overall health and situation.
Yes, this can be combined with shockwave therapy which can be very synergistic. Other treatments may include improvements to testosterone and peptides.
Shockwave Therapy treatments
Shockwave therapy is a noninvasive outpatient treatment for erectile dysfunction. The procedure stimulates tissue and encourages blood flow to the penis to aid in the healing process. And it doesn’t involve taking any pills or medications that can cause unwanted health effects.
Orthopedic doctors have used this treatment for many years to help heal bones, ligaments, and tendons. It’s even used to help wounds heal and to treat kidney stones.
Shockwave therapy is helpful for ED caused by inadequate blood flow to the tissue in the penis. An erection doesn’t take place if there is inadequate blood flow. Shockwave therapy successfully fixes this problem.
The shockwave therapy repairs and strengthens the blood vessels in the penis. It even helps to grow new blood vessels. This creates improved blood flow, which leads to a healthy erection.
Shockwave therapy for ED helps men who have mild ED and who don’t want to take medication. Patients who responded poorly to medical therapies also may benefit.
Improvement of erectile dysfunction symptoms may last from 1 to 2 years. The results can be quite dramatic in many cases but do vary from patient to patient. Most patients experience benefits within one to three months.
There are medications that increase blood flow to the penis. But they can cause serious health problems for some men. Shockwave therapy for ED doesn’t cause any unpleasant side effects.
Unfortunately, shockwave treatment for ED doesn’t work for men who suffered nerve damage during pelvic cancer surgery. It also doesn’t help men who have ED for psychological reasons.
We do shockwave therapy in our office on an outpatient basis with significant results. First, we apply a gel to the penis to help conduction of the low-intensity shockwaves.
During treatment, we move a wand-like device around different areas of the penis. It delivers mild shockwaves to targeted areas. The treatment takes about 15-20 minutes.
Almost all men find this treatment to be painless. Some notice a mild tingling sensation from the shockwaves. Patients need no anesthesia.
The FDA has not yet approved shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction. But shockwave therapy is FDA-approved to treat other medical conditions.
That makes shockwave treatment for ED “off-label.”
The FDA approves medicines for treatment of a specific condition. The same occurs with medical treatments such as shockwave therapy. But doctors commonly prescribe FDA-approved medications to treat a different condition. This is called “off label” use.
“Off-label” use for medications and treatments is both legal and common in the United States.
Private insurance companies and Medicare don’t currently cover the cost of shockwave therapy. But they generally cover the cost for a full ED evaluation.
