Platelet Rich Plasma Facial Rejuvenation
In todays world, we are always trying to look our best. There are so many cosmetic products out there that we all use to make our skin look better. For many, they turn to cosmetic treatments to give them that “fountain of youth” appearance. As we age, everything sags down. We lose the volume of our cheeks, temples, and lips. We develop deep lines throughout our face. Sun exposure helps accelerate this process. Botox and Fillers have been around many years to treat these issues. Although they can give good results, they are not natural. Fillers could potentially have complications as well. Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP utilizes your own blood to help you get to a more youthful appearance. This treatment has been successful in improving wrinkles, pores, and scars. It can also tighten your skin and even provide more volume.

PRP works through the release of growth factors which stimulates the development of new hair follicles and increases neovascularization. It decreased inflammation around the hair follicles as well. It causes hair to go from a quiescent state to a growth phase.
Avoid anti-inflammatory supplements and medications. Hydrate yourself. No hair products.
Just like other PRP treatments, a certain volume of blood is drawn out and spun in a centrifuge to maximize platelet concentration. PRP is than applied to the skin which is than micro-needled. If HA is used in conjunction with this treatment, then it is micro-needled first followed by micro-needling of the PRP.
It is normal to have redness and some swelling. This will resolve over a few days. Avoid scrubbing the injection site for 4 hours. Try to leave the PRP on your skin for 8 hours. The next day, you may use a gentle skin cleanser. During this time, you will want to avoid sun exposure and products with glycolic acid and retinol for 7 days. They will irritate your face. You will also want to avoid any strenuous exercise and make for 24 hours. Remember that a microneedle was used in conjunction with your treatment. Resume moisturizers 48 hours after treatment. Post treatment we will recommend some products that can help soothe your skin and help with the repair process. You will want to wear sunscreen when you go outdoors.
You will notice a difference in your skin over this time. Treatments spaces out 4 to 6 weeks can really turn back the hands of time. We usually recommend a series of three treatments. Treatments can be combined with hyaluronic acid (HA) which helps volumize your skin.
